Mark Cavendish is all set to leave Team Sky

The British “sprint king” of cycling, Mark Cavendish is all set to leave Dave Brailsford’s Team Sky. In an interview Cavendish mentioned that he would favor a team which would support him in winning the Tour de France stages. Cavendish has 23 stage wins under his belt and wants to win as many Tour de France stages as possible. He thinks that Brailsford will not claim any compensation for that.


Orica Green EDGE not Trying to Sign Mark Cavendish

Australian professional cycling team Orica Green EDGE has ruled out the possibility that it is in the hunt for the signature of British rider Mark Cavendish if he does decide to leave Team SKY at the end of the current season.

The rookie team in the World Tour had been one of two teams that had been linked with vying for the services of Cavendish after his team mate for Great Britain in the London Olympic Games and Team Sky Bradley Wiggins stated that he would understand if Cavendish chose to leave Team SKY to fulfill his own ambitions.

British cyclist Bradley Wiggins has been left overwhelmed and shocked by the immense adulation that he has received from the people of his native land after a summer where he achieved phenomenal success in his sport.

The flame is being handed to Britain at an event in Athens. Former English football captain David Beckham will be handed the flame before it is sent to Cornwall for the relay’s start.
